Excellent Response From Users

The Technology Department has been very busy over the last two days. I am excited to announce that 144 teachers and staff members have requested their user names and passwords. This is GREAT news. This will allow a large number of users an opportunity to provide great feedback on the new email. Please email Ernie Conner your comments. What do you like? What features did the old email have that the new one does not have? Give me a chance to find answers to your questions. THANKS FOR THE INPUT!

Is there a way to request a read receipt to an email that you send to someone. I file this away as a way ofshowing they did receive the email ..

Is there a way to request a "read receipt" on an email that you send ?

At the present time there is no read receipt option for this system. I have sent a message to Google requesting this enhancement. In the meantime, I would suggest that you place a request in the message that you send.

With the old mail system, you could type a person's name and click the little person icon and a list of people with that last name would show up. Is there a way of doing this with the new system?

The feature that you are speaking of works a litte different in google mail. Once you have emailed someone or received an email from that address, it will pop up when you start typing in the letter. For example, once I email Ernie Conner at econner@mcpsweb.org one time, if I email him at a later time and start typing in the first letter, his email address will appear. I will click on it and it adds it to the send bar. TRT's will demonstrate this in their training sessions. Great question!
